Insurance shouldn't feel like a black box. Here's exactly what happens at each step — typical timing, what I'm doing, what you're doing, and what to expect.
Discovery call
You call (786) 777-8869 or fill out the 60-second form. I ask about your situation — family, finances, goals — and we figure out what kind of coverage actually fits. No pressure, no commitment, no follow-up sales emails if it's not the right fit. If I can tell within the first 5 minutes that you don't need what I sell, I'll say so.
Quote shop
I run your case across multiple A-rated carriers and bring back 2–4 real options that fit your situation. You'll see actual prices, not vague "starting at" teasers. For complex underwriting cases (specific health histories, hard-to-place situations), I may need to make a few phone calls to underwriters — typically still same-day or next business day.
You decide
I walk you through the options in plain English (or Spanish), explain trade-offs honestly, and answer your questions. You commit on your timeline, not mine. If you want a few days to think it over, talk to a spouse, or compare against another agent, that's fine — I'll send you a written summary you can refer back to.
Application
Once you pick a product, we complete the application together. Life insurance: 30–40 minute call to capture full medical history (or you self-fill online if you prefer). Health insurance: 15-minute Marketplace enrollment, including subsidy estimation. Annuities: 30–45 minute application plus a required suitability review.
Underwriting
The carrier reviews your application. I monitor progress and ping you with any requests for additional info.
Term Life
2–6 weeks for full underwriting. 24–72 hours for accelerated underwriting (no exam) on healthy applicants under defined coverage thresholds.
Health Insurance
Enrollment is effective the 1st of the following month. No traditional underwriting — guaranteed-issue under ACA.
Annuities
5–14 business days from application to issued contract. Some carriers issue same-day for non-qualified MYGAs.
Policy delivery
The carrier issues the policy. I review it with you to confirm every detail matches what you signed up for — coverage amount, term length, premium, beneficiaries, riders. You get digital copies (PDF) + physical copy if you request one. If anything doesn't match, we fix it before you accept delivery.
Free-look period
Florida law gives you a free-look period — typically 10 days for life insurance, longer for some annuities — to review the issued policy and cancel for a full refund if you've changed your mind. Use it. Read the policy carefully. Call me with any questions.
Service after the sale
I don't disappear after the policy is issued. Annual reviews to check that your coverage still fits. Life-event re-evaluations when your situation changes (marriage, divorce, new child, new mortgage, salary jump, retirement). If a different carrier is now offering better rates for your situation, I'll tell you — even if it means you should switch.
- Drip email sequences after the call (no marketing automation)
- "Just checking in" follow-up calls that are really upsell pitches
- Your data sold or shared with third parties
- Pressure to add unnecessary riders, "double up" on coverage, or upgrade to permanent when term fits
- SMS marketing without explicit opt-in
